Guild Policy
Member Conduct
We will not tolerate any discrimination based upon basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, veteran status, ancestry, or national or ethnic origin. While a healthy rivalry between in-game factions and races is acceptable, we require civil and well-mannered behavior towards the real people behind the keyboards.
Members should refrain from discussing politics, illegal activities, sexual orientation, or explicit sexual acts in guild chat or on any voice chat. These topics tend to be inflammatory due to the large and diverse makeup of the guild. If you decide to participate in such discussions in which people may become insulted or feel threatened, be prepared to face the possibility of immediate expulsion from the guild.
You are more than welcomed to take such topics to a private channel, the debate board in the forums or a private voice communications system of your choice.
Members may not beg for gold or items directly or in chat channels. You can make requests on the website for items or help in reaching a certain amount of Gold. COI strongly supports teaching you how to make your own money so that you won?t have to worry about that aspect of gaming.
Members may ask for help or seek members for groups in guild chat or voice chat, but such solicitation should be done wisely. Simply put, please don?t beg others for power leveling or run-throughs.
Members may not harass other guild members or players outside of the guild. If a player asks you to cease contacting or interacting with them, please respect their wishes.
All members must abide by Blizzard?s EULA for World of Warcraft.
These standards of behavior apply to member?s interactions with other guild members, other players outside the guild, and Blizzard personnel.
All members shall be held responsible for their respective accounts and characters action within the guild. If your friend or family member logs onto your account and stirs up trouble you will be held responsible as though you did it yourself.
Characters
To join the guild, there is currently not an application process; however there are requirements once a person has joined. One a player has joined they will be granted the rank of Initiate for a probationary time.
After invitation the Initiate will be required to register at the website and participate in some way i.e. post in some way.
Within 2-8 weeks, the Initiates will be evaluated by the officers. If the initiate has demonstrated that they fulfill the expectations of the guild, they will be promoted to the next rank. The rank of
Member is considered a member in good standing.
Characters of any level can be invited to the guild.
Any character inactive for 21 or more days may be removed from the guild.
Guild Identity
The guild is independent; there are no ?sister? guilds on Caelestrasz. While members are free to start their own guilds independently, such guilds are to remain distinct from Children of Iluvatar and recruitment shall not be conducted in the guild forums, guild chat, or voice chat. This should not prevent members or officers from establishing friendly relationships with other guilds.
Battlegrounds
Sportsmanlike conduct and proper decorum are expected in the battlegrounds.
If you enter the battlegrounds, you are expected to participate. Players who enter the battle grounds and simply go AFK (away from keyboard) or maintain a minimal amount of movement while failing to assist with the efforts of the rest of the faction participants will be removed from the guild. If you must go AFK due to more urgent matters, you are expected to leave the battleground.
Looting
We have no specific policy on looting rules (e.g. pass on BoP, need/greed, etc.) but we encourage our members to make sure everyone in a group is in agreement before the loot starts dropping. This is especially important when grouping with non-members.
We will not tolerate ninja looting by any of our members.
Guild Bank Policy
Officers strongly encourage members of Children of Ilúvatar to use the guild bank often.
We encourage the donation of items or materials equal in value to what you are withdrawing, or gold to purchase more bank tabs. However, no one should refrain from withdrawing items from the bank because they do not yet have items to donate. Many of our members have started off with literally no gold on this server, and once they were comfortably established, have become great contributors to COI. We want to help everyone become established!
All guild members can donate gold to the guild bank. This is used towards purchase of more guild bank tabs. Because of the size of our guild and the problems that might ensue, COI has no plans to institute a policy of using guild bank gold for repairs or for member withdrawals at this time.
Initiates cannot withdraw from the guild bank. They can request items from those of Officer rank only (Officers, Super Officers, Firsborn). It is not ok to obtain items from the guild bank from a non-officer guild member.
Members can deposit and withdraw from the first and second tabs. Withdrawals are limited to five per day.
Officers can deposit into all guild bank tabs, and may withdraw from the first three tabs.
Super Officers and higher can deposit into all guild bank tabs, and may withdraw from all tabs.
This means our most valuable items will be on the 4th, 5th, and 6th tabs and may not be immediately accessible if our highest level officers are not online. These items can be requested via in-game emails or tells to an officer or via RL email.
We ask that people consider the value of the item they are depositing, since the number of slots is extremely limited, especially for a guild of our size. Each slot costs close to 10g (five bank tabs purchased: 4350g divided by 490 slots). When the sixth tab is purchased, each slot will represent nearly 16g. Don’t fill up slots with low level crafted items, or easily purchasable recipes.
Materials and items taken from the bank are to be used to benefit the guild and not for personal profit. It is expected that armor and weapons withdrawn from the guild bank by members will be equipped for use by that character. Withdrawing items to sell on the Auction House or to transfer to another character will be considered theft from the guild and grounds for an immediate gkick. If you want to withdraw something for your alt which is also in COI, please do so while logged in as that alt.
Enchanting or crafting supplies from the guild bank should also be used for the benefit of the guild. Crafting or enchanting something for yourself or a guild member? Fine. Crafting or enchanting something for a non-guild member, charging someone for the enchant, or selling the crafting item? Not okay. That is using items from the guild bank for personal profit.
Periodically, an officer appointed to this task will go through the weapons and armor in the guild bank and disenchant the items which have been taking up inventory space for a considerable period of time. Those enchanting mats will be redeposited in the guild bank or used for events like the Craft Fair. As such, withdrawing items specifically to disenchant for mats is not allowed, regardless of the intended use of the mats.
Please be aware that guild bank deposit and withdrawal logs are examined frequently by officers.
